Launching first in Italy, the Truly Yours program will be offered in the U.S. by the end of 2017. Using digital lens surfacing technology, each Rx lens will be surfaced to match the frame style and meet the visual requirements of the indi- vidual prescription. With colors ranging from standard G-15 to the very popular flash and gradients, each pair of prescription Ray-Bans will be authentic to the original designs, the company notes. The prescription lenses will look identical to the original classics, including Ray-Ban's "stamp of authenticity"—the Ray-Ban logo in the corner of the right lens, and the Ray-Ban initials engraved on the left. The ordering process will be simple, Luxottica says, and feature com- petitive wholesale prices. A "good-better-best" proposal on all available frames will give customers the ability to choose the frame-and-lens option that's best for them. After ordering the frame and lens options, the finished product is delivered to opticians and retailers in six days. According to Super Optical, Conversion offers a fast and seamless shift between clear and tinted that can compete with the market-leading photochromics.
