U-University offers self-paced, on- demand optical training in the form of fun videos to get users up to speed on optical dispensing. It is per- fect for new hires with little to no optical knowledge, or for employees looking to grow and expand their knowledge of optics. The nearly 30 courses (each only 10 minutes long) can be grouped into building blocks for staff, fully customized to the level of optical knowledge the user has. Topics include optics of the eye, light and refraction, lens types, prescriptions, lens materials, taking lens measure- ments, blue light, and solutions-based dispensing. U-University also includes training that helps ECPs become more confident with fitting VSP's UNITY lenses. Free Online Training Offered GONE SHARKIN' Costa Sunglasses and OCEARCH, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the research of great white sharks and other apex preda- tors, is sponsoring a daily web contest for consumers that will award a variety of Costa gear (hats, T-shirts, backpacks, and, of course, sunwear). The grand prize is a trip to Nantucket, MA, to take part in a multi-day OCEARCH shark-tagging expedition. Contestants need only answer a question about ocean conservancy correctly to be entered. The site fea- tures a clean design, improved functionality, and the current product catalog.
